This state-wide convening begins October 21 with the Rockefeller Award Dinner, an elegant evening in celebration of this year’s honoree, Ellen Allen, followed by the 2nd Annual Child Health Policy Conference on October 22. This engaging, day-long event features expert insights, discussion, and networking opportunities This two-day experience brings together providers, parents, and policymakers to connect, learn, and drive meaningful impact.
DAY 1

The Rockefeller Award, named in honor of former West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller, is given annually to an individual for their work, dedication and inspiring efforts to ensure that every West Virginian has access to affordable and quality healthcare coverage.

2026 HONOREE: ELLEN ALLEN
Ellen Allen, M.B.A. is a nonprofit leader and healthcare advocate with more than 35 years of experience dedicated to improving access to care for West Virginians. Inspired by navigating complex healthcare systems for her daughter, who was born with a rare genetic condition causing blindness, Allen has spent nearly two decades advancing community-based health solutions. She has led transformative work, most notably at Covenant House, where she expanded housing and healthcare programs and helped establish a free, full-service clinic serving Charleston’s unsheltered population during multiple public health crises. In 2023, she became Executive Director of West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, where her leadership continues to strengthen efforts to advance sound health policy and ensure quality, affordable care across the state.
